Purpose of the Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth.

Troop 611 is a Boy Scout run Troop in South Burlington, Vermont. We are in the Land of Champs District of the Green Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We meet every Sunday afternoon during the school year. At our meetings, we work on Scout skills, advancement, merit badges, and planning outdoor activities. Troop 611 is sponsored by St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington VT. If you are a boy 11 years old or older (or 10 1/2 and in sixth grade), Troop 611 is for you! Please feel free to drop in and visit at one of our meetings. Click on the Activities links and Troop Photo link to see this and past year's activities.

Troop 611 meetings are held at the St. Vianney Catholic Church on Hinesburg road (160 Hinesburg Road, about 1/4 mile south of Williston avenue).

We usually have an outside activity once a month in place of meeting and some activites over the school summer break.
